Heartbeat is about this girl named Annie whose mom is pregnant with a baby. With a best friend on her side named Max, Annie and Max love to run barefoot. Then Max wants Annie to join a race with him, but she doesn't want to. So Annie's grandpa, who's very forgetful, give Max his old racing shoes.
This book is really awesome because it says you have something special inside. If you like really magical books, then you will like this book.
